સાયન્સ સિટી ખાતેની આવાસ યોજનાનું નામ પ્રમુખસ્વામી નગર AMC દ્વારા આપવામાં આવ્યું છે. આ નિર્ણયને સ્થાયી સમિતિએ મંજૂરી આપી દીધી છે જેથી હવે તે પ્રમુખસ્વામી નગર તરીકે ઓળખાશે.
અમદાવાદમાં તાજેતરમાં પ્રમુખ સ્વામી મહારાજ શતાબ્દી મહોત્સવનું સમાપન થયું છે. મહોત્સવના અંતે મળેલી બેઠકમાં સ્થાયી સમિતિ દ્વારા આ નિર્ણય લેવાયો હતો. શહેરમાં તાજેતરમાં જ યોજાયેયા મહોત્સવ રાજ્ય અને દેશમાંથી લોકો આવ્યા હતા અને મોટી છાપ છોડી છે ત્યારે આ મહોત્સવની યાદમાં સાયન્સ સિટીમાં આવાસ યોજનાનું નામ પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજ આવાસ યોજના રાખવામાં આવ્યું છે.
ભાડજ સર્કલ અને ઓગમજ સર્કલ વચ્ચે પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજ શતાબ્દી મહોત્સવ યોજાયો હતો જ્યાં એક્ઝિબિશન હોલ સહિત વિવિધ શો યોજાયા હતા. આ સાથે ગ્લો ગાર્ડન પણ બનાવવામાં આવ્યો છે. આ નગરમાં લાખો લોકોએ દર્શનનો લાભ લીધો હતો.
સાયન્સ સિટીમાં આવાસ યોજનામાં લગભગ 1000 ફ્લેટ છે જે હવે આ નામથી ઓળખાશે. આ આવાસ યોજનાના મકાનો શતાબ્દી મહોત્સવમાં કામ કરતા સેવકોને આપવામાં આવ્યા હતા. ત્યારે હવે એક સ્મૃતિરુપે રહે તે માટે આ નિર્ણય કોર્પોરેશન દ્વારા લેવામાં આવ્યો છે.
